Adventures on my bike
Today I got to meet some of my fellow members of the Club des Cent Cols which I joined last year. The occasion was a bike ride in the Jura mountains featuring Col de la Lèbe and the Col de la Rochette
For the third year in a row I climbed to the third highest pass in the French Alps, this time using the very steep and part-gravel route via Col de la Moutière
A short ride to Col de Besseuges, climbing along a quiet dead-end road into the hills above Col de Saint-Raphaël
A wonderful bike ride in the Préalpes d’Azure from Puget-Théniers via Col de St-Raphael to the top of Mont Vial and above the clouds
A bike ride from Barcelonnette to the ski station at Pra-Loup, famous as a Tour-de-France stage finish, with wonderful views over the valleys. Short ride – quick post
Finally I got to do this epic loop in the Mercantour National Park, climbing over le Col de la Cayolle, Col des Champs and Col d’Allos in one day.
A wonderful ride along the upper Ubaye valley on a glorious October day, culminating in a ring-side seat to la Transhumance
A bike ride to the ‘forbidden’ col de Larche, along the Ubayette valley to the Italian border.
I rode from Briançon to the famous Col du Galibier, one of the most oft-used climbs in the Tour de France. Beautiful weather made for another wonderful day’s cycling in The Alps
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice I once again took on the highest paved pass in the Alps, Le Col de l’Iseran. It turned out to be an amazing day of cycling…
